Online Dog Licensing

San Francisco Health Code section 41.15 requires that every resident owning or keeping a dog over the age of four months obtain a current San Francisco Dog License.

Using this site you can:

Apply for a dog license
Renew a dog license

You will need:

A copy of the dog's rabies vaccination certificate
Visa or MasterCard
Dog license tag number (for renewal only)

Fee schedule

After submitting your application and payment, the rabies vaccination information will be verified by our staff. Once verified, new applicants will receive a dog tag by mail and renewals will receive a confirmation via email.

Please review your information carefully before submitting. If the information submitted is invalid, your payment will be returned and your application will be voided.
